Avalon.sk at a Glance

"At Avalon.sk, we believe in people, we believe in change, we think freely about the world's issues. What people do today could well be the meaning of our entire lives tomorrow. In a world of hardship, it rests with people to stand for what they believe in. What we believe is simple: only large corporations have access to innovation - this has been the problem with the world economy for a long time. If people can change that, we can change the way the world does business forever, we can change the world."

Steven Walker - Chief Executive Officer

Key Facts
  • Avalon.sk was established as a business in 2004 at the beginning of the social media era and the time when the greatest modernisation of the internet began.
  • In 2008, the company received investment from the Gold Brothers who are internationally renowned millionaires owning ventures in property, imports, the service industry, finance and project management.
  • The company was formed to deal with a simple problem, people are not using the full potential of technology so we want to make the world think differently about how it can use technology to solve the everyday problems of life and business alike - we believe this should be the model of innovative business.
  • Our company has a base in 12 countries worldwide, and we are therefore a global citizen in modern business.
Highlights of 2010
  • Since January, Avalon.sk has unified academic talent with its new ventures for product research and development. With its new relationship with the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University, our company is drawing on all the talents of the student population in a bid to support the development of students through paid flexible work experience posts.
  • In March, we published the specification of a new Toll-Like Receptor (TLR5) filtration technique that could be used to stabilise organisms with transgenetic cell wall and cell membrane modifications.
  • In July, we formed a research partnership with the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University. At present, this provides the company with the capacity of two innovation centres both located within paces of our Global Office. Much of our research focuses on the potential of biological and chemical integration projects.
  • In August, we published the production specification of iso-flurographene, a viscosity regulator that can be modified by small electric currents. The repercussions for industry are already enormous and it could well be the future of manufacturing efficiency and profiteering.
  • In September, we launched both our Thinking Differently campaign and started plans for a joint volunteering operation to deploy students to charities and other organisations otherwise not capable of expenditure in difficult economic times with less investment by the government than ever before.
  • In the December financial review of the Avalon.sk Technology Group, it was declared that the company has recruited nearly 100 new resellers in that financial year, and therefore engaged with over 12,000 new businesses in the United Kingdom. Avalon.sk has also engaged in the international stage and is now working with customers from Dubai and China on the topic of systems integration.
Our Structure
  • Avalon.sk is made up of over 12 technology businesses all owned by the central company. Each of our businesses forms a remarkable brand as a result of leadership within four key areas; our offering, our price, where we offer our products and how we promote them.
  • The central company deals with technology integration and generally deals with large-scale projects over a number of months or years. The divisional businesses work with mass-market products, not only generating significant revenue for research and development within the larger organisation but promoting our wider technology integration facilities.
Our Leadership
  • The company's majority shares are owned by Steven Walker, a young scholar and alumni of the University of Manchester. The senior management team consists of the talent of today, an interdisciplinary team tasked with the growth of one of the most rapidly developing young companies in the world.
  • Leadership of each business owned by Avalon.sk is led by the same senior management team as the central company, providing a vertical management hub designed to drive the company through the ceiling.
